he hunting season is still underway and we have a few interesting developments to share with members.

  1. Buffalo hunt

SA Hunters in collaboration with SA Jagter/Hunter and Rhino Bullets offer members an opportunity to hunt a buffalo in the Coutada 11 concession in Mozambique during the last week in November 2022 . Its inclusive of all costs. Read more information here. To stand a chance to win this hunting opportunity, you can purchase tickets at R100/ticket.

  1. Game bird hunting opportunity

SA Hunters offers a group of eight hunters the opportunity to hunt guinea-fowl and pheasants on a farm in the Koppies region in the Free State. The available dates are 26 – 28 August and 2 – 4 September 2022.

Accommodation is provided in an old sandstone farmhouse with water and electricity. Hunters must take their own food, drinks, cutlery, crockery, camping beds and bedding. Free State hunting licences for game birds are available at R210 each from SA Hunters’ national office at Inyathi Park.

It costs R1 000 per person for 2 nights for a group of 8 individuals. The farm is approximately 1 500 ha big comprising mostly mealie fields and blue gums trees. No hunting has been done on the farm this year. If weather permits, the mealies will be harvested in August.

  1. Official notice of SA Hunters Congress 2022

SA Hunters’ annual congress will be held as a virtual meeting via Zoom on 5 November 2022 at 08:00 from the Association’s national office at Inyathi park in Pretoria. Please take note of the following important dates:

  • The closing date for submitting discussion points for the Congress is on 5 September 2022.
  • The closing date for submitting nominations for awards that SA Hunters make to members and non-members, is 31 August 2022.
  • The closing date for submitting nominations for the election of board members is 20 September 2022.
  • The closing date for the registration of delegates to the congress is 20 September 2022.
  • The complete set of congress documents will be sent to branch chairpersons by 5 October 2022 for distribution to branch delegates.

Recruit members for commission

SA Hunters  has 43 115 members.

The Board agreed that a member or a branch that recruits ten or more members per year, can earn commission of between R100 to R150 per member. More information is available here.

SA Hunters distributed membership application forms at various dealers. Any member that wants to receive the same material, can enquire with Dorothy Ras by dorothy@sahunt.co.za

The Board also agreed that branches that succeed in resigning up lapsed members, will also benefit from the commission. More information has been sent to Branch chairpersons.
