Wilgerivier Branch: Dasklip shooting range

During the past seven to eight years, Wilgerivier Branch developed the Dasklip shooting range into a functional and attractive facility for use by their members. This small branch with only 200 members invested about R500 000 to upgrade the shooting range. The money was raised over time through branch funds, donations, sponsorships and many voluntary man hours. SA Hunters also donated R32 000 towards the improvement of the shooting range – this donation is available to all SA Hunters branches under certain conditions.

One of the challenges was to make proper ablution facilities available to enable female members to also enjoy a day at the shooting range. Containers have been delivered at the shooting range and one was converted into very comfortable ablution facilities. (see video).

Thank you and congratulations to the chairperson, Danie Pieterse, and every member involved in this project to provide fantastic facilities at the Dasklip shooting range. It is indeed a shooting range that makes every member of the branch proud. Enjoy it!
